Love146

“Love146 is an international human rights organization working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention. The trafficking and exploitation of children is one of the darkest stories and most severe human rights abuses imaginable. But for us, the hope of ending it is a reality. Love146 is helping grow the movement to end child trafficking while providing effective, thoughtful solutions. We believe in the power of love and its ability to effect sustainable change.”

Love 146 adheres to their core values of
Defiant Hope
Intentional Thoughtfulness
Deliberate Collaboration
Steady Perseverance
Relentless Advocacy
Unfiltered Joy

Rob Morris, the CEO and co-founder of Love146, was the first person I heard speak about human trafficking, now decades ago. His talk about this atrocity, and also the healing their organization does, led to the development of my full-length drama about the topic, For My Silent Sisters.

PAST SUPPORT

ALS Association & I AM ALS
May 2021-July 2021
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. People with ALS gradually lose voluntary muscle function, resulting in the loss of mobility of legs, arms, speech, and eventually the ability to breathe. While people with ALS become paralyzed and often cannot speak, their minds are usually not affected so they remain aware. ALS is fatal and patients typically pass away in three (3) years. There is no cure. Yet.
This must change.

The ALS Association works in multiple facets to advocate for change:
“By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.”

I AM ALS is an organization focused on action and giving voice to those with ALS:
“Together we raise awareness, increase ALS research funding, pass legislation and beyond. We rewrite the ALS story.”

Every 90 minutes, someone dies from ALS and someone is diagnosed with ALS. We must support those with ALS, as well as awareness, research, clinical trials, and funding to stop this cruel disease. Learn more at I AM ALS and the ALS Association how you can support those with ALS.

Barbershop Books
February - April 2021
“Developed in Harlem, Barbershop Books is a community-based program that creates child-friendly reading spaces in barbershops and provides early literacy training to barbers across America. We leverage the cultural significance of barbershops in Black communities to increase boys' access to culturally relevant, age appropriate, and gender responsive children's books and to increase out-of-school time reading among young black boys.” ~Barbershop Books

WaterAid
November 2020-January 2021
As COVID-19 spreads, more than half of health centers in developing countries do not have running water… WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. We work with local partners and influence decision-makers to maximise our impact.” ~WaterAid
