Playwriting Fellowship for Young Writers of Color
The Lark, an always impressive NYC theatre championing new work, recently announced The Van Lier New Voices Fellowship application process. This fellowship is for NYC playwrights of color under the age of 30.
The Van Lier New Voices Fellowship is designed to help address the lack of inclusion of early career playwrights of color in the theater field. More specifically, the Fellowship will support remarkable writers under 30. During a year-long residency, Fellows will work on multiple artistic projects through an individually-tailored program of Lark development opportunities, and form relationships with other theatermakers at various career stages from all parts of the world. The Fellowship includes a cash award of $15,000, plus a $3,000 health insurance allowance, along with access to a wide range of Lark resources, including artistic program participation, office and rehearsal space and staff support.
